Mayor Luke Feeney
Luke Feeney was elected mayor of Chillicothe on November 3rd 2015. Luke previously served as the Chillicothe City Auditor from 2013-2015 until assuming the Office of the Mayor on January 1, 2016. During his time as Auditor, Luke refinanced the City's outstanding debt into responsible long-term bonds, he increased transparency in the City's finances using OpenGov, made the income tax office more accessible during tax season and ran a successful tax amnesty program.
During his first year as mayor the City reopened two shuttered fire stations, increased police and fire department staffing, combined police and fire dispatching and did close to a million dollars in street paving. He is committed to providing dependable city services and being responsive to the needs of the community. He holds monthly office hours in the City’s different wards to hear what the concerns of the different neighborhoods are, first hand.
Luke moved to Chillicothe to work for South Eastern Ohio Legal Services (SEOLS), where he met his wife, Stacy. With SEOLS Stacy and Luke represented low income people and seniors in a variety of civil practice areas. During his time with SEOLS he came to know the area well, and helped to start the Ross County EITC Coalition which is now in its tenth year. Active in the community, Luke has served on the board of directors of Hopewell Health Centers, South Central Ohio Big Brothers Big Sisters, United Way of Ross County and Ross County Community Action.
Luke was a speaker at the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. He is a graduate of Ohio University and the Case Western Reserve School of Law. He and his wife Stacy have a young son and daughter, two dogs and two cats and a happy home in Chillicothe.
